Norway is famous for Grieg,
the paper clip (believe it or not) and
the ever-popular Jarlsberg wheel.
The land of fjords delivers to us
a finely crafted cheese that is
made from a secret recipe
developed nearly 200 years ago.

Norway is rich in grassland where
cows thrive in sparsely populated areas and the rivers flow clear from the mountain plateaux – conditions that combine to make Norwegian milk among the finest in the world. And from fine milk comes fine cheese.

Other Norwegian cheeses besides Jarlsberg are also available in the UK, with equally fine traditions and the same superior quality. Ridder is a soft, creamy, surface ripened cheese with a strong aroma best served after dinner on the cheese board with summer berries. Gjetost (pronounced ‘yet-oast') is the unique brown cheese with a fudge-like texture and naturally sweet caramel flavour, typically eaten in Norway for breakfast in thin strips on cracker bread.
Tine Cheese from Norway
All of these cheeses are made with pride by the TINE (pronounced ‘tea-na’) Group, a co-operative organisation owned by around 18,000 dairy farmers scattered throughout the entire length of Norway. If cheese makes it good, Norwegian cheese makes it special !
